7zip is a compressing tool, it is a free tool that you can use even in a commercial environment. 7zip support uncompressing the following file types: AR, ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DMG, EXT, FAT, GPT, HFS, IHEX, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, QCOW2, RAR, RPM, SquashFS, UDF, UEFI, VDI, VHD, VHDX, VMDK, WIM, XAR, and Z.
For downloading it please visit the following link 7zip download based on your operating system select the file to download. I download the first file in the list for Windows 64 bit.
How to install 7zip on Windows:
Once the download is finished you can press or select run for the file. You may see a User access control screen when running the installation as this tool going to add new files to your system. You can press Yes to approve it.
The first tool screen asks where you want to install 7zip. I will go with the default location for the tool installation. Press the Install button to continue the installation.
This process will take a few moments to finish. Once the button change from installing to Close the process is done. Press the Close button to finish the installation.
This is to show that 7zip install on your system.
I open 7zip file manager to show you how it looks like. In general if you want to extract a .7z file, or other files that 7zip support, you can right click on the file and you will be able to see there on option to use 7zip to open or extract the file.
